Parkland College Department of Public Safety

The Parkland College Department of Public Safety provides service-oriented functions to a college community of more than 10,000 faculty, staff, and students. The department employs 12 full-time state sworn police officers. The Department of Public Safety provides several crime prevention programs to aid in crime reduction and increase public education. It also provides vehicle assistance for vehicle lockouts, jump-starts, and transportation for fuel.

The Department of Public Safety is the designated emergency response unit for the campus. Officers are trained in emergency medical, hazardous materials, severe weather, and law enforcement response. Weather Announcements

The Department of Public Safety closely monitors changing weather conditions in order to give the most advance warning possible. Should severe weather develop, the Department of Public Safety will notify persons on campus via campus wide PA and through the campus computer network.
